Snapping Tips!

Be sure that the Pals Poster is legible on your photo.
Watch out for glare! Keep the sun behind the camera.
If you are showing the Pals Poster on a tablet, turn the brightness right up.
Take the photo close-up (no need for full body shots here), chest and above is fine.
Make it fun! Give a nice big cheesy smile :) and maybe even a thumbs up. Remember imaginative, creative and unusual photos often stand out and gain the most votes.

Contest Rules:

Only 1 photo entry person is permitted.
Only original photos are acceptable.
All entries must be G rated. Offensive, explicit, or unsuitable photos will be removed.
Any photos that appear to be 'faked' or 'edited' after taken will be removed.
All entries must include the Pal Poster provided, either printed or displayed on a mobile device.
You must be the rightful owner of the photo you submit or have written consent to submit on behalf of another member.
By submitting your photo, you agree and understand that Paltalk reserves the right to use your submitted photo for the campaign's promotional assets.
Winners will be determined by the most number of votes on the voting page (not likes).
Photo contest starts on May 8, 2013 at 12pm EST and ends on May 31, 2013 at 12 PM EST.
Winners will be announced on June 3, 2013 and contact directly by a Paltalk staff member.

5 Steps to a Better Chat Room Experience

Chat Room Etiquette

Follow these simple guidelines when chatting in Paltalk rooms to ensure you get the most out of your Paltalk experience.

	Be polite and raise your hand
In a busy chat room, you will want to 'Raise Your Hand' to indicate that you would like to speak. You may also want to raise your hand to partipate in votes or play games. Click on the 'Raise Hand' icon in the chat room window toolbar or Select the 'Raise Hand' option under the 'Actions' menu in the chat room window

	Observe the room rules
Room owners will typically post a rules at the top of the room window for chat room members to abide by. Be sure to stick by these rules or else you may be banned.

	Stay away from neon colored fonts
Neon fonts are very difficult to read. Try not to use them.

	Stick with lower case lettering
Avoid typing in all CAPS, as it's considered SHOUTING. Use it to emphasize certain words, but try not to type entire sentences in capital letters.

	Be nice, it's much more fun!
Stay positive. Personal attacks or negative references to other participants of the room is usually considered to be rude and will probably result in a warning or even a bounce from the room by one of the room admins.

First off, we want to thank you all for being a part of this amazing and vibrant community. Can you believe it's been almost 15 years since we launched? And it's thanks to all of YOU that are still here, stronger than ever!

Paltalk Terms and Privacy Updates:

Within the next few weeks, we will be making some updates to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to reflect changes regarding our new Live Video Wall feature (read more about it below).

If you wish to opt-out of having your webcam show on the Video Wall, you may change your settings under the Live Video Wall section in MyPaltalk.

New Live Wall feature

In the coming weeks, we will be launching a really cool new feature - Paltalk Live Wall - you will be able to see it in place of the current Paltalk Today window that opens when you logon to Paltalk. It's a great way to find and meet new members who are currently publishing their webcams on Paltalk. On the live wall, you will see a huge selection of members' webcams. If you see someone you would like to chat with, simply click their image on the wall and you will automagically join the chat room they are publishing webcam in!

Changing your live wall privacy setting:

Simply, click the "Settings" link next to Live Video Wall and follow the instructions.

New group pages launch today

As you may have noticed, over the past couple months we've been updating the look of our website. We wanted to refresh the Paltalk brand so that new and existing members alike can enjoy the thousands of rooms and topics our audience from around the world creates.
Today we launched our new groups pages. Anyone who's used Paltalk knows that Paltalk Rooms are what makes Paltalk the most vibrant community on the web. Our rooms can accommodate thousands of people interacting simultaneously on video - and we hope that these new pages showcase the content our members create (that's you!). It's what makes Paltalk a place that millions of people enjoy every day.

The key changes are:
•         Updated the general layout to be cleaner, simple and easy to use.
•         Our testing showed people were confused by the option 'become a member' so we have changed this to 'become a fan'. Members are people in your chat room, fans are well.. fans :)
•         We have souped-up the share room options and made them more prominent.
•         We added a nice big "Enter Room" button to drive more page visitors directly into your chat room.

But wait, something's missing... where are the guestbook comments and media uploads?
Ah, well, we believe the key to a great website is to make things easy to use and simple to navigate so it will allow even the most "fat-fingered" of us (me) to find our way around the site. During user testing and from your feedback Emails it became clear that the media uploaded was rarely viewed and the guestbook comments were mostly gobbledegook and unwanted by chat room owners. So we made the painful decision to remove them (R.I.P).
